A few days ago we
reported that MPI Home Video would be bringing out DVDs with the early "pre-Barnabas" episodes of the original 1966
Dark Shadows series. Those episodes, #'s 1 through 209 (though three of those production numbers went unused due to pre-emptions), will begin with
Dark Shadows - DVD Collection 27 in
February 2007.
What we didn't realize at the time, though, was that these 4-disc sets aren't going to be at retail stores at that time, but instead MPI wants to make this offer available to the most loyal
Dark Shadows fans first. So these packages will be available exclusively through MPI's Dark Shadows DVD Club, which you can find online at
DarkShadowsDVD.com.
We asked MPI if these sets would come to stores at some point, and were told that no decision has been made about retail availability of those early
