With all six seasons of the classic
Danial Boone TV series
available on DVD, Liberation Entertainment is now turning their attention to lower-priced collections aimed at more casual or budget-conscious fans of the show. First up will be a pair of 2-disc sets, both coming out on
November 24th.
Daniel Boone - Fess' Favorites is a 2-DVD collection of episodes personally chosen by show star Fess Parker (also known for his role as Disney's
Davy Crockett). The other release on the same day is
Daniel Boone - The Best of Mingo. The episodes on this 2-DVD collection were personally picked by show co-star Ed Ames, who played Boone's American Indian friend Mingo (Ames is a renowned singer, too, and is also known to fans of
The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson for a famous bit where a tomahawk demonstration
went off-target!).
According to the Amazon listings at the links provided above,
Daniel Boone - Fess' Favorites has a list price of $24.95, while
Daniel Boone - The Best of Mingo has a lower list price of $19.95...even though both are 2-disc sets running 408 minutes each. No reason for the discrepancy can be found in the listings, nor at Liberation's website. However, both titles are discounted by Amazon to $17.49 (dicounted costs are current at the time of this writing, and could change without notice at Amazon's discretion).
We don't have episode lists or package art at this time, but stay tuned and we'll keep you updated!
