Here's an interesting item! Amazon.com has added
a new listing for ABC's short-lived 1996 series
The Dana Carvey Show. While they aren't taking pre-orders just yet, they do show that we can expect a DVD to be released on
March 3rd. No studio name, pricing, cover art or other details are provided there just yet.
While the program didn't last long (it had a total of 8 episodes produced, with ABC leaving the final episode unaired during the original broadcast run), it did have a quality list of names among the cast! Besides
Saturday Night Live alum Carvey, the regulars included Steve Carell (
The Office), Stephen Colbert (
The Colbert Report), Elon Gold (
Stacked), Robert Smigel (the man behind "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog"), Heather Morgan (1995's
Get Smart series), and others.
Some of the material originally seen on this program, such as "The Ambiguously Gay Duo" (voiced by Carell and Colbert), was eventually moved to
SNL, so it will be of great interest to that show's fans. We'll be on the lookout for more info about this DVD release for
The Dana Carvey Show, so stay tuned and we will keep you updated!
