Many folks are discovering classic television shows for the first time with TV-DVD releases. Here at TSoD, as we go about the business of reporting to you about these, we take it for granted that there's a number of our readers who fall into that category, and don't want to have shocking twists spoiled for them. We know we would hate it if our fun was ruined!
So, when we first
told you that
Dallas - The Complete 9th Season is on the way for a
July 15th release, we knew we had to tread carefully. We think we did okay by simply saying at the time that "The season ends with one of the single most-talked-about scenes in television history!"
Warner Home Video's
press release hints around the edges of that season-ending twist, but they never quite come clean about it...even going so far as to say after giving their hint that "If you don't know what that means, you're in for a surprise." However, with the rear cover art they've released for this package, it's clear that they're willing to reveal all on the back of the box. Well, it's not an absolute lock that someone could look at this and figure it out, but it's really not hard to put two and two together.
For those of you who know all about what happens, or just don't care if the surprise gets ruined, we've got a look at it for you below. However, we're putting the front of the box up first, so (unless you have a really tall screen) you can't see the rear box art below it quite yet. If you don't want your fun potentially ruined, hit the "back" button on your browser RIGHT NOW and save it for later.
