Fans of the Ewing clan have noticed an every-six-months pattern emerge for season set DVDs, with one usually near the end of January and one usually around the late July/early August mark. So we know you all are anxiously awaiting for word of when
Dallas - The Complete 8th Season will be hitting the streets. An insert that Warner tucked into other releases (
Nip/Tuck to be specific) a bit over a month ago gave a "January 2008" timeframe, but when we posted that info here the folks at the studio were quick to tell us it was no longer accurate.
Now we've gotten word from our inside sources that the studio is preparing to announce a
February 12th release date for this package, with 30 hour-long episodes. With so much to include, it's no surprise to us - regardless of how unhappy we might be to report it - that Warner has opted to put these onto 5 double-sided DVDs. Cost will be $39.98 SRP.
We're not aware yet of any bonus material that might be planned for this release, but we certainly hope there is at least a featurette discussing the fact that Donna Reed temporarily took over the role of "Miss Ellie" during this season, until Barbara Bel Geddes returned the following year. That's Reed pictured on the cover art, seen below:
