A couple of weeks ago we
broke the news about the
February 12th release date of
Dallas - The Complete 8th Season. The studio has since made their formal announcement confirming all the info we passed along, but not speaking out about extras at first. More recently they've made the rear box art available, showing that the only bonus material on board will be a featurette called "
Dallas Makeover - Travilla Style".
The piece is described as one that "
explores the revolutionary new look brought to the show by Emmy®-winning costume designer Travilla". Known better by just his last name, William Travilla (also credited as "Bill" or "Billy" Travilla at times) has also won an Oscar for his work on 1948's
Adventures of Don Juan, in additon to two Emmy Awards, one for his work on
Dallas.
We've got the rear box art shown below, in full, but we'll
warn you that there is a picture on it that could be considered a spoiler. Longtime fans of the show who recall different aspects of this season will probably know all about it, and feel no remorse at scrolling down and taking a look. New fans who aren't in-the-know about plot twists might want to avoid it for now. Of course, that's not going to help when you go to buy the set in the store, or pull it out of the package if you order it online. But we've put it at the very bottom of this story, so you can only see it by scrolling down, if you want to. Above that we've got Warner's back-of-the-box description of the release (including the "official" explanation of Donna Reed's presence, which has more recently been disputed by cast members), and the front of the package:
Dallas fans just can't get enough of the Ewings. So Season 8 brings a new one - cousin Jamie Ewing, a blonde, blue-eyed little ol' cupcake with a big, fat claim on the oil empire.
