NBC's recent series
Crusoe came to an end this past week, and the 13-episode run of the show will come to DVD fairly quickly.
Crusoe - The Complete Series has been announced by Universal this morning for release on
May 5th. The series has starred Philip Winchester (
Thunderbirds) in the title role and Tongai Arnold Chirisa (
Zimbabwe) as his man Friday. Other cast includes Sam Neill (
The Tudors, Jurassic Park), Anna Walton (
Hellboy II: The Golden Army), Mía Maestro (
Alias), Mark Dexter (
From Hell) and Sean Bean (
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Goldeneye).
Running 551 minutes long on 3 discs, the DVDs are presented in anamorphic widescreen video with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio. English subtitles are also on board. As an added value, a bonus
Robinson Crusoe Novel will be included with the set (NOTE: we've learned that the novel will also be included on Universal's DVD release of
Earth: Final Conflict - Season 1, coming out the same day; however, we're not sure what the tie-in of the book with that title would be, other than being on the identical street date). Cost for
Crusoe - The Complete Series will be $29.98 SRP. Stay tuned for package art, and any further info that we may happen to find.
