NBC's new U.S.-version of
The IT Crowd, based on the original U.K. show of the same name, will not debut on the peacock network this Fall as previously planned. It's been pushed back to "mid-season replacement" status, and won't make it on the air until early 2008. As a result, BCI has decided to postpone the
previously announced September release date in North America for DVDs of the original British show,
IT Crowd - Version 1.0: The Complete 1st Season. According to the studio, the new official street date is
February 19, 2008.
However, word is that the contest to submit photos of your own "IT Crowd" (the person or people in the I.T. Dept. at your own place of work) is still on. The
blog site is definitely still active, and they are still collecting entries. Expect the blog to be updated with more clips from the show for a while, and you'll likely see more contest-submitted photos here and there, but the big push for more submissions will probably occur closer to the new 1st Season DVD release date. Remember that the "prize" is that BCI plans to put the "winning" pictures in the next (2nd Season) DVD release, as long as interest is there, that is. So keep sending in your submissions to
InfoTechCrowd@yahoo.com!
Stay tuned for further updates.
