The IT Crowd - 1st Season of the U.K. Version of the Program Finally Coming...From a Different Studio!

MPI finally brings it to the USA on DVD, late this March

Posted by David Lambert
Back in 2007 we reported that BCI was planning a USA release of the U.K. program The IT Crowd - Version 1.0: The Complete 1st Season, on DVD, in order to tie in with NBC's plans to make a USA version of the series. When NBC delayed their plans for a Stateside version of the show, BCI postponed their own plans for the DVD release of U.K. version. When NBC eventually canceled their plans for the remake, the DVD release just kind of faded into the ether. Until now!

Apparently the USA DVD rights to the British incarnation of the series has now changed hands, and rests with MPI Home Video. They have announced that they'll bring out The IT Crowd - The Complete 1st Season on DVD themselves on March 31st. For $24.98 SRP you'll get the first six episodes on a single disc running 144 minutes. Plus it "Contains hours of Bonus Materials," according to the info we received. However, no details of those extras were provided just yet, and we can't guarantee that they'll be the same as what BCI had announced for their version of the release. The cover art has certainly changed up a little; you can see that below along with a studio description that MPI sent over:
Have you tried turning it on and off again?

In the gleaming high-rise offices of Reynholm Industries, powerful executives oversee billion dollar business deals. But in the dark and shabby basement, the company's IT Support Team - bitter slacker Roy (Chris O'Dowd), socially inept Moss (Richard Ayoade), and their new boss, computer illiterate Jen (Katherine Parkinson) - rule their own domain of professional irresponsibility, mega-nerd ecstasy, and random acts of personal insanity.
