This past October we
reported that the long-awaited DVD release of
Crossing Jordan - Season 1 was finally coming in the "1st Quarter of 2008", even narrowing it down to "February" in an
update a few days later. However, we cautioned you that the schedule was still subject to change, and indeed it did! With February here in just a couple of days, the title is only just now getting announced this morning, and the official release date given is
May 6th.
Jill Hennessy, Miguel Ferrer (whose
Bionic Woman was also announced for DVD today) and Jerry O'Connell (who doesn't appear until the 11th episode) star in the six-season run of the cop show created and exec produced by Tim Kring
Heroes, co-exec produced by Allan Arkush (
Heroes) and David Amann (
Without a Trace), and also co-produced for a time by Damon Lindelof (
Lost). Music was done by Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin, who currently provide the music for
Heroes but are better known among 80s music fans as being Prince's "Wendy and Lisa"! Among the guest stars you'll see during
Crossing Jordan's first season's 23 episodes are Howard Hesseman, Amy Aquino, Chris Noth, K Callan, Andrea Martin, Robert Picardo, Steven Culp, Carl Reiner and Jack Klugman!
Crossing Jordan - Season 1 will come on 5 DVDs running 1019 minutes, and costing $59.98 SRP. Video will be Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) and audio is listed as English Dolby Digital 2.0, with English subtitles. A nice list of bonus material is included:

Box art isn't available yet, but stay tuned and we'll bring that to you as soon as we get it! As great as
Las Vegas episodes are,
Crossing Jordan fans will be glad to finally see Jordan and Woody on DVD with action in Boston, instead of at the Montecito...which was the only way to see them up until now. And we're sure
Las Vegas fans will be interested in the crossover episodes that began in
Crossing Jordan's fourth season. It will be awhile before we get that far in, but stay tuned!
UPDATE:: Just a few hours after the announcement, art arriving showing off the packaging for this release:
