Last week we had the
heads-up that
Feb. 19th sees the release of
Cops - 20th Season Anniversary Edition on DVD. We've been trying to find out more about what this consists of for you, and answer questions like "is this package's content only consisting of 20th season episodes?"
Nope. We've found out that this is truly a 20-year celebration on 2 DVDs. On the first disc you'll find the pilot episode and a "Las Vegas Heat" special episode, both with commentary tracks from show creator John Langley. The second disc will contain a look back at the first 10 years, and another one about the second 10 years. Each of those will contain the best segment of the show from each of the seasons, so that all twenty seasons will be covered.
Extras found on these discs will include a behind-the-scenes featurette, a "Cops on
Cops" featurette, parodies of
Cops, tributes to the show, and a "Lost Episode." We've also found out that the material on these DVDs may be uncensored, and possibly in more than just a language manner: our retail sources are suggesting that it may not just be bleeps that are gone, but also blurred-out body bits as well. We have yet to confirm this with the studio, though.
Keep in mind that this is early info and subject to change. Even though it is
up for pre-order at DVDEmpire.com, the studio hasn't announced it to the press yet, so all details are subject to change. Box art isn't available yet, either, but stay tuned.
