Several days ago we were the first to bring you the official
announcement and cover art for
Combat - Season 4, Conflict 1 and
Combat - Season 4, Conflict 2, due on DVD this
May 24th. At the end of it we mentioned that the final season would be called
Season 5, Invasion 1 and
Invasion 2, and that we were waiting on updates about when that release would come, and what it would consist of.
Image hasn't said anything yet, but we did get an e-mail forwarded to us about the contents of a note that went out recently to the members of a mailing list just for fans of
Combat!. Here's what it said:
You heard it here first. The season 5 DVDs will be mastered off the original 35mm IP ABC masters in HD. To quote the source that looked at an episode yesterday "they look fabulous." NO time compression! PLUS another all new documentary from Steve Mitchell! More is planned that I can't go into yet. That is all for now. Now where is my bottle of Korbel champagne?
