A week-and-a-half ago - on Christmas Day, in fact! - we
brought you word that
Columbo - The Complete 2nd Season was coming to DVD in 2005. We weren't sure when, but in our story we mentioned how our most recent discussion with Universal had brought word to not be sure of rumored "March" release dates, because the schedule for it might change.
Turns out that those fears were unfounded, because this morning the studio officially announced the title and gave it a
March 8th release date! Yep, you can expect 4 single-sided, dual-layer DVDs running at 10 hours 41 minutes, at a cost of $39.98 SRP.
Spec-wise, this will be in the original broadcast format: 1.33:1 full frame video, English Mono sound, and close captioned for the hearing impaired. Also expect French and Spanish subtitles. No cover art yet, nor word on any extras that might be included, but we'll bring you word of these when the time comes. Stay tuned!
