Following up on
our story from a couple of weeks, we now have the official studio announcement for
Columbo - The Complete 1st Season, starring Peter Falk. Let's start with a small (and kinda blurry) shot of the cover (we hope to have a larger one later today):
September 7th is when the detective in the raincoat hits the streets, in a 12-hour compilation of shows from the first year. This 5-DVD set features the original 1.33:1 video format, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono audio, subtitles in French and Spanish, and is closed captioned for the hearing impaired.
Oh, there's just one more thing to bring up: extras. The witness didn't report seeing any bonus material at the scene of the crime, but then again the supplements may just not have been found yet. We'll continue to investigate this, and let you know the results. Either way, it would be a crime to miss this piece of television history on DVD!
