Amazon.com, that hugely popular online retailer, is now
listing for pre-order Too Close For Comfort - The Complete 2nd Season on DVD. They show it as coming on
June 7th.
Fans were a bit put off with the first season release, because despite assurances in the
1st Season announcement that the original DVD set would contain "original broadcast episodes," the masters that were provided to Rhino were actually the syndicated edits of the episodes, cut down a little bit here and there to make more room for commercials while showing in reruns.
An inside source is assuring us, though, that it will be different with this new release. Rhino has heard the fans loud and clear, and we're told that "
these are the original broadcast episodes, not the syndicated versions." Good news! We know fans will be skeptical - after all, that's what we were told last time, too - and we'll join them in a "wait and see" attitude. But we know that Rhino worked significantly with the source of the issue, and we're pretty confident that what we're hearing is accurate.
