February will see the release of
Cheers - The Complete 4th Season. We don't have a specific release date yet, but we expect to get it and other details very soon (it could even be later today). The only info released so far is a 644 minute running time, and the following pic containing both box art and a look at the DVDs in this 4-disc set:
Season 4 was the landmark year for
Cheers, starting the season in dealing with the passing of actor Nicholas Colasanto over the summer break. The production team was forced to write in the death of his character, Coach, and he was replaced with a young, goofy bartender by the name of Woody Boyd. Actor Woody Harrelson played the new part, joining regular cast Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger, and Kelsey Grammer. Bebe Neuwirth first showed up this season as well, as Dr. Lilith Sternin, who would become romantically involved with Dr. Frasier Crane of course.
Other actors of note during this season include guest stars like Sherilyn Fenn, Nancy Cartwright, Fred Dryer (voice), Jennifer Tilly, Dan Hedaya, Jean Kasem, and
Voyager Captain Kate Mulgrew.
