Last week we
informed you of a report that Columbia Tristar would be announcing
Charlie's Angels - The Complete 2nd Season on DVD this week.
Well, Columbia did not let us down. In response to overwhelming fan demand, they announced this morning that every episode from the second season - there should be 26 of 'em, if you count double-length episodes as "2" - will arrive home on six discs in April.
That explosive cover highlights an important change that started off the new season: Farrah Fawcett-Majors had left the show, and her character of Jill Munroe left with her (the Angel supposedly went to pursue a race-car driving career, but would return for a few episodes in a later season). With Jill out, Charlie selected her younger sister - San Fransisco trained policewoman Kris Munroe - as the new Angel. Cheryl Ladd initially declined the role, but later changed her mind and joined in time to get thrown right into the thick of things. In the season's 2-hour debut, the Angels must travel to Hawaii to rescue a kidnapped Charlie.
1127 minutes of fun and adventure span 6 DVDs, which will be in stores on April 6th. The timing of this release seems perfectly planned to coincide with the 3/29 broadcast premiere of NBC's
"Beyond The Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie's Angels".
List price is $49.95 for
The Complete 2nd Season. We don't have info yet about extras or other specs, but stay tuned. We'll have that information for you when Columbia sends it over.
