Back in May 2003, when the first season of
Charlie's Angels was coming to DVD, the folks at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (then called "Columbia TriStar") also released a single-disc collection of five first-season episodes titled
The Best of Charlie's Angels. In the wake of the loss of show star Farrah Fawcett, Sony has decided to re-issue that title,
available immediately, at the new list price of just $14.94 SRP (about ten dollar less than the original cost). At that price, you can expect to find it near the checkout lane of many stores that stock DVDs, just as soon as stock can be shipped to them. Episodes found on this release are:
- Hellride
- Angels in Chains
- Consenting Adults
- The Séance
- Dancing in the Dark
That's in addition, of course, to the upcoming release of
Charlie's Angels - The Complete 4th Season, due in stores this coming Tuesday,
July 21st. We've already
shown off the front and rear package art for that 6-disc set. But a few days ago (July 13) our friend Mike Pingel, who runs
CharliesAngels.com AND assisted with the design of the
Season 4 packaging, posted some pics at his site.
What pics? Shots of the 3 "thinpak" disc cases, front and back, that each hold two discs from the six-disc set. These are the plastic cases that slide into the outer slipcover.
