With
Snoopy's Adventures this past June, and next month's release of
Snow Days, Warner Home Video has been treating us to some episodes of
The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show on DVD, mixed in with some of the
Peanuts specials as well. These are each branded under the "
Happiness is Peanuts" home video linup, and there are more to come. So what's next?
Amazon has begun taking pre-orders for a release of
Happiness is Peanuts: Friends Forever on
DVD! This listing is prior to Warner's official announcement for the title, though, so instead of a street date Amazon only says "
This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." Our guess is that it could be tied to Valentine's Day, however, given the look of the cover art shown below (although that artwork may not be final, and could be subject to change).
Pricing is available, too, currently showing $14.97 SRP (you can, of course, lock in your copy right away at a discounted price, if you order it using the link above). There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entry. Stay tuned, however, and we'll update you further on this title, just as soon as we find out anything more! UPDATE: This afternoon Warner Home Video has formally announced this title, scheduling it for release on
December 27th. They've revealed that the episode of the
Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show included will be the 8th one, with the cartoons "Kite-Eating Tree," "Sally," "Camp," "Lucy Loves Schroeder" and "Scared Snoopy." Also on board is the 1967
Peanuts special titled "
You're in Love, Charlie Brown, which has previously been available on DVD three other times (on both Paramount's and Warner's releases of
Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown and also on the
Peanuts: 1960's Collection). We've add the studio description for this new DVD release just below, before the box art:
