Following up on the announcement earlier this week about a September 2nd release of
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: Remastered Deluxe Edition, we've learned what the next release will be in Warner Home Video's Remastered
Peanuts DVD lineup. As mentioned in
an online trailer for
Great Pumpkin, the next DVD afterwards will be
You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown: Remastered Deluxe Edition.
As we discussed in
our story yesterday,
Not Elected, a special which first aired on CBS in 1972, first came to DVD in September 2000 as part of a Paramount-distributed release of
It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. For that reason, we theorized that
Not Elected would be the bonus episode on Warner's new Remastered DVD for
Great Pumpkin. Instead,
It's Magic, Charlie Brown will accompany the Halloween special's new release.
Now we've learned, by way of the online trailer, that
You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown will instead get its own separate
Remastered Deluxe Edition DVD release from Warner, said in the trailer to be arriving "
just in time to cast your vote". That's certainly a reference to the U.S. Presidential Election, which is scheduled for November 4, 2008. So this DVD will probably arrive in stores sometime during the month of
October.
The trailer goes on to say that the
Not Elected disc will include another all-new documentary, AND a bonus episode of its own (but offers no titles or details on either one). It also gives us a small peek at the package art, which you've surely already noticed to the left.
The next pair of releases after that? We're pretty sure that Warner will have the classic Thanksgiving and Christmas
Peanuts specials on their radar for that, no doubt! Stay tuned and we'll have more for you about the
