A couple of weeks ago Universal
announced that
The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper - Volume 1 comes to DVD on
Sept. 18th. This animated series was a spin-off from the 1995 Steven Spielberg live-action production of
Casper. The cartoon didn't have Spielberg's involvement, but Jeffery A. Montgomery worked with Spielberg as co-Exec Producer in the Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci film and then went on to Executive Produce the animated series (as well as a couple of
Casper direct-to-video releases later on).
The DVD is
available at Amazon for pre-order at a current $11.19 price, and we can see by the cover art below that the exact episode count will be 15 (two more than the number we previously speculated on). Last week we were able to
