The 1996 version of Casper (also known by its long title, The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper), stars the voice of Malachi Pearson, who won an award for voicing the young ghost in the 1995 live-action film with Bill Pullman and Christina Ricci. The award, by the way, was a "Young Artist Award," which is ironic since the guy's been in front of a camera since he was one year old! The rest of the voice cast includes the likes of Dan Castellaneta ("Homer" on The Simpsons), Jack Angel (original Transformers, Superfriends, G.I. Joe, Sonic the Hedgehog), and Rob Paulsen (TMNT, The Tick, Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain).
On September 18th, Universal is bringing out The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper - Volume 1, a single-DVD release for $14.98 SRP. Audio is English 2.0, and English subtitles are present as well. Video is 1.33:1 full frame. The running time given is 107 minutes, and since each cartoon short is around 8 minutes, then that means we'll probably get around 13 episodes, give or take. Stay tuned for cover art!
