Yesterday we
let you know that there's a listing at Amazon right now - well, there has been on and off, for about a week - where you can place a pre-order for
Caroline in the City - The 1st Season on DVD. However, the listing there hasn't had a release date so far, and the studio had not announced the title yet. Until today, that is!
Caroline Duffy (Lea Thompson) is a successful cartoonist living in Manhattan whose comic strip "Caroline in the City" has become a huge hit. The strip is based on her own life, and the people in it - her occasional boyfriend Del, her best friend Annie, and her employee Richard who all add chaos to her life as she looks for love in the Big Apple.
Yes, CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment have made it official this morning, with their formal announcement of an
August 12th DVD debut for the first 24 episodes from this sitcom starring
Back to the Future's Lea Thompson. As we mentioned last time, you'll also get a ton of guest stars including Matthew Perry crossing over as "Chandler Bing" of
Friends, Johnathan Silverman crossing over as "Jonathan Eliot" of
The Single Guy (in the same episode as Perry, in fact!) and Jane Leeves crossing over as "Daphne Moon" of
Frasier.
Amazon shows the list price as being $44.99, but they discount most of their releases. This one is no different: yesterday they were pre-selling it for $39.99 after discount. As of this morning, however, they've discounted it even more, bring the cost down to just $33.99 as of this writing! You can lock in your copy right now using the Amazon link up above.
