As fans of The Carol Burnett Show
know, the program ran for 11 seasons from 1967 to 1978, with the first five seasons (through 1972) produced by Bob Banner's "Burngood, Inc." outfit. As many of you are also aware, Banner additionally produced a number of Carol-starring specials which aired between 1962 and 1966, which eventually led up to her show becoming a regular ongoing series. These include Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall
(an Emmy-winning production with Julie Andrews), Calamity Jane
(with character actor Art Lund playing "Wild Bill"), An Evening with Carol Burnett
(which also won an Emmy for "Outstanding Performance in a Variety or Musical Program or Series") and Carol + 2
(featuring Lucille Ball and Zero Mostel).
As we've reported
, Time Life is soon releasing a 22-DVD set titled The Carol Burnett Show - The Ultimate Collection
