Care Bears are about to be celebrating their 25th anniversary as a popular toy: after a couple of years being used only on greeting cards made by American Greetings, it was in 1983 that the
Care Bears went "wide" when Kenner began producing them as a set of plush toys, leading to the classic cartoon series two year later. And various DVDs have been released with episodes from that show, but this new release coming from Lionsgate this fall helps kick off 2008's celebration of 25 years of
Care Bears!
November 20th sees the release of the
Care Bears - 25 Years of Caring Gift Set. The first thing you'll notice when you look at the package is the exclusive 25th anniversary plush toy, available only in this set. Further inside the box you'll also find 4 DVDs, each in a separate case, featuring 25 episodes of the still-popular 1985 series. These discs have already been on the market separately, and are:

- Care-A-Lot's Birthday: Will Care-a-Lot's birthday be cancelled? Find out, when Tugs and Hugs are kidnapped and the Care Bears launch a rescue mission to save their magical home.

Each DVD features the "direct-play" system to make it easier for children to use: just put the disc in the player and the stories begin to show. Total running time is 352 minutes. Cost is $39.98 SRP, but you can
