Following yesterday's DVD release of the long-awaited
Car 54, Where Are You? - The Complete 1st Season, we've gotten fan feedback mentioning that the episodes on this set seem to be in neither broadcast order, nor in production order. This is something which both Gord and I overlooked, since neither of us had previously been able to watch more than a couple of episodes from the show. We checked with Shanachie Entertainment about this, and they have provided us the same answer as reader Mike DeCourcy
received when he asked about it at their Facebook page. Our thanks to Mike for that, and to Shanachie as well for the quick reply. Here's what they said:
- Mike DeCourcy: I got mine today, but the episodes are all out of order. See episode guide here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054528/episodes and compare. It looks like you just randomly decided an order for the episodes.

Actually, after spending time with some Car 54 historians and buffs it was determined that the most attractive presentation would be to have the episodes ordered by popularity. Of course this is all subjective...but the good news is that ALL of the episodes are there! Hope you are enjoying...
So it's not random, it's not airdate order, and it's not broadcast order. We just wanted to make sure fans know what is what here...seems like this caught many of us by surprise!
