For three months now, fans have been able to
pre-order Californication - Season 2 on DVD from Amazon.com, even though no release date had been made available. This morning Showtime and Paramount Home Entertainment have formally announced the title, however, revealing the street date at last. You can own the further adventures of Hank Moody (David Duchovny,
The X-Files) on
August 11th. Video presentation is in widescreen, and audio options include English 5.1, English 2.0 and Spanish mono.
Pricing isn't mentioned in the studio info, but Amazon shows a list price of $42.99 and is currently discounting it down to $27.99 if you lock it in now (cost is subject to change without notice, at Amazon's discretion). We know fans are interested in Blu-ray versions of both seasons (include us among them!), but no indications of a high-def release were mentioned. And no other details are available for this title yet either, nor official package art, but stay tuned for updates!
