Last year we did a poll for Sony asking fans how they would like to see
Cagney & Lacey released - you'll probably remember that there were different actors playing Cagney in the TV movie and short first season before Sharon Gless took over in season 2. The show moved from Sony to Fox along with the other MGM titles when Fox took over the MGM distribution in the summer. Fox has shown interest in releasing the series, but that took a big step forward last week in a
USA Today article about Gless. Here's the quote from the article:
In time for its 25th anniversary, her groundbreaking, Emmy-winning CBS series Cagney & Lacey will finally be available on DVD.
That's great news for fans wondering what happened to the series after our poll was conducted last year. We don't know how Fox plans to release the series - we conducted the poll with Sony, not Fox. Thanks to Cody for sending us a link to the USA Today article.
