We brought you
VEI's press release a month ago formally announcing that
Cagney & Lacey - The Complete Series is coming to general retail with all the episodes which aired starring Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless...and that there would also be a larger version of it called
Cagney & Lacey - The Complete Collection: 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, with the Loretta Swit pilot, the short first season with Meg Foster, the four post-series reunion telefilms, and other bonus material as well, including an autographed photo. At the time other release dates, in October, where mentioned for these releases...but that's come and gone now. The current release date for the general retail set is
November 27th, in both the USA and Canada.
But what about
The Complete Collection: 30th Anniversary Limited Edition set? The press release, as well as the blog of show creator Barney Rosenzweig, has said to expect that item to only be available from the CagneyAndLacey.com website. That site notes that the original date has passed, and that the title still isn't for sale there. No reason has been given for the change, from either the site or from the studio. However, VEI informs us that at the end of last week they begun making the
Limited Edition set available
straight from the new online studio store! You can order it now, and it shows a CA$139.95 price on it. At first there was a way in the upper right corner to change the currency from Canadian Dollars to U.S. Dollars, but at some point today the online store changed a bit and that function is no longer there. However, if you put the title in your cart and go to check out, it does allow you to pick another country to ship to, such as the United States. So this offer isn't exclusive to Canadians.
Remember, Rosenzweig has said that only 3000 copies of the
