Alliance Atlantis is releasing "Grave Danger," the two-part episode which closed out the fifth season. The episode was directed by Quentin Tarantino (
Kill Bill,
Pulp Fiction), and based on a story he wrote.
The CSI teams come together to save one of their own when they learn one team member has been kidnapped and buried alive.
The episode pulled in 30 million viewers, launching it to the top of the ratings for the week.
We haven't received any information from the studio, but we've cobbled together bits of information from various e-tailer sites. The disc will be 88 minutes, and will contain an anamorphic widescreen (1.78:1) transfer. We've found a few listings that say this will be an English Dolby Stereo release; we hope that's wrong since the season set will contain a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. Apparently there's also a featurette on the disc (mostly likely the "Tarantino Style" featurette from the season set). If you're buying the season set then there's no reason to buy this, but if you're a Tarantino fan who is not otherwise getting
C.S.I. DVDs, then you'll probably want to pick this up.
The single disc will be released on
November 29, and will sell for $24.99 CAN.
Amazon.ca is currently taking preorders for $17.49 CAN.
Thanks to Dany Audet and Jason Marcon for the info.
