A week ago today we
exclusively reported that CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment was preparing a
September 1st release of
C.S.I. - The 9th Season on DVD. This morning the studio made that official, and this afternoon our friends in the retail world forwarded us some additional details about that set. But they also let us know that on the same date, CBS/Paramount will be putting out a high def Blu-ray Disc version of
C.S.I. - The 9th Season, too!
The DVD version will come on 6 discs, in anamorphic widescreen video, audio in both English 5.1 audio and Spanish Stereo option, and English and Spanish subtitles plus closed captioning. Bonus material includes Exclusive Featurettes, Audio Commentaries, "and more!" Cost is $49.99 SRP, but you can
pre-order it from Amazon at a discount.
The Blu-ray Disc version will also be on 6 discs, with high definition video (probably 1080p, but it wasn't stated). English Dolby 7.1 sound is included, plus English and Spanish subtitles. Bonus material is the same as above, but is likely to include some exclusive BD-live content as well. Cost was not indicated at this time (but the
Season 1 Blu-ray version released last month was $89.99 SRP, so this is probably in a similar cost range).
