Roughly two-thirds of the production run of the classic animated show
C.O.P.S. have been put on DVD from Shout! Factory, with a "volume one" release in 2006 and an online-exclusive "volume two" release in 2010. This past October, though, we had
the heads-up that Mill Creek Entertainment had signed a deal with Cookie Jar Entertainment (who currently owns the DiC library) that includes plans for this entire series to arrive on DVD before 2011 is finished!.
Mill Creek has informed us that on
February 15th they will release
C.O.P.S. - Volume 1 to start, with 32 episodes on 3 DVDs (730 minutes) for just $14.98 SRP. They haven't set a specific date for their version of
C.O.P.S. - Volume 2 yet, but they assure it will come out in the not-too-distant future, with the remaining episodes available on it (including all of those new-to-DVD stories from the end of the show's run).
Also available on that same day is an even-MORE budget-priced title,
C.O.P.S. - The Best Of, featuring 10 episodes on a single disc (244 minutes) for $9.98 SRP. Video on both of these items will be full screen, with audio in English Dolby 2.0 Stereo. Here's a look at the front cover art for each of them:
