A year ago we
reported the happy news that Mill Creek Entertainment expected to release the full and complete animated series of DiC's
C.O.P.S. on DVD in two halves, with the first 32 episodes on
Volume 1 coming out 2/15/2011. That release happened on time, along with a 10-episode release of
C.O.P.S. - The Best Of, a single-disc title at a budget price. In July we
followed up with a report about the remaining 33 episodes coming out as "
Volume 2" this past September, so Mill Creek kept their promise to get the entire run of the show on DVD (that's the first time this has occurred). Passionate fans of the show will certainly want those 2 multi-disc sets.
However, if you're a more casual fan of the program and the under-ten-dollar 1-DVD release was more to your liking, then you might be pleased to know that Mill Creek is preparing another single-disc release for $9.98 SRP. It's officially called "
The Best of C.O.P.S. Volume 2," which is why we took the time to explain the above: we don't want our readers confusing the two separate "volume two" items from Mill Creek (made even MORE confusing, perhaps, by Shout! Factory's 22-episode effort a couple of years ago that was also titled as
C.O.P.S. - Volume 2!..ah, well). The new release consists of 10 episodes plus a bonus episode of
Hey Vern, It's Ernest, will be on store shelves
February 21st, and the best way to distinguish Mill Creek's
C.O.P.S. - The Best Of, Volume 2 from the other similarly-named items is by the front cover art:
