Warner Brothers has posted a
survey about Looney Tunes DVDs. In the survey, they want your opinion about various configuration ideas for the upcoming
Looney Tunes DVD release.
You may find it difficult to respond to the survey now. Despite being up for just a day or so, many people are reporting to us that it is now off-line. Those that have luck getting through are being asked some age group/gender questions to start with, and then quickly being told "Thank you for your interest in this survey. Unfortunately we already have all the completed surveys we need from the demographic group you represent."
In any case, a wealth of possibilities was discussed with the survey respondants. While you should keep in mind that not all of these configurations will see the light of day (indeed, none of them might), it is still interesting to see what the fine folks at Warner have in mind for Bugs and pals:
First up is the "Bugs Bunny Carrot Collection", containing 14 'very cool and entertaining classic cartoons'. Unspecified 'special bonus material' would be included at a list price of $19.95, and survey-takers were asked which cover they preferred:
Next was discussed the 2-disc "Looney Tunes Premier Collection", containing 28 'classic Looney Tunes cartoons, including the episodes that introduced each character'. Again, special bonus material would be included, but details were not provided. It did say, however, that 'these cartoons have been restored and remastered to their original quality.' In no way did it suggest that every "Carrot Collection" cartoon would be included in this set, so the expectation is that consumers would be expected to buy both. List price was given at $26.95, and only one picture was presented:

After that, what seemed to be a better version of the last set was shown, featuring more cartoons in addition to the twenty-eight available in the "Premier Collection". This next set was called the "Looney Tunes Golden Collection", and the indication was that this would be available down-the-road from the other two releases. It would be a 4-disc set featuring 60 'of the best classic Looney Tunes cartoons...(including) the best of favorite characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and the episodes that introduced each character.' It again says that special bonus material would be included, and that 'these cartoons have been restored and remastered to their original quality.' List price was given at $69.95, and two different package possibilities were shown (the one on the right is a 'tin', not unlike the Walt Disney Treasures releases):

Finally, the survey asked how interested you would be in "Looney Tunes Hit Reality", a 1-disc Looney Tunes-inspired spoof of Reality TV shows such as "Survivor," "Iron Chef," and "Fear Factor" among others. This release would be 20 'hilarious all new Looney Tunes cartoons featuring your favorite characters'. This may or may not consist of the flash 'webtoons' that have been running on the Looney Tunes website for a while; we're not sure. In either case, it too would have some sort of bonus material and would have an SRP of $19.95. No picture was offered for this possible release.
Don't forget, this is all very preliminary. Prices, configurations, dates, and everything else is subject to change. TVShowsOnDVD presents this information only as a means of keeping our users informed of the possibilities that are coming for these beloved cartoons.
Readers of our previous Looney Tunes news have an idea of what some of the 'Special Bonus Material' might consist of. As soon as we know more, we'll pass it on.
