In our
last news item for
The Looney Toons - Golden Collection Volume 2, we let you know that the 4-DVD box set,
featuring 60 classic shorts, would arrive in November.
Today Warner Brothers revealed the release date for this release:
November 2, 2004.
At the same time, Warner let it be known that a 2-disc release would arrive on the same day. This seems to be a situation similar to
the orginal Golden Collection and its companion cut-down version,
The Premiere Collection. The cut-down version this time will be known as
Looney Tunes - Spotlight Collection Volume 2. No idea yet as to it's contents, but we'll let you know when we find out.
Finally, despite Jerry Beck's assurance that he would remain mum on
Golden Collection Volume 2 extras until Warner gave him leave, he DID let one piece of info slip out a few days ago
at his BLog. On the July 2 entry, he said:
BREW AT COMIC CON - Part 1
Here's an early heads up - Jerry Beck will be part of at least three panels/screenings at the San Diego Comic Con July 22-25.
I don't have all the details myself, but here's what I know: I'll be part of a panel/tribute to Bob Clampett with Mark Evanier and other special guests. I'm hoping to show a part of a Bob Clampett documentary that will be included as bonus material on Looney Tunes Golden Collection volume 2. So come by and get a sneak preview.
Thanks for the heads-up on that, Jerry. And thanks to reader "Kevin D." for the tip that this had been posted. Stay tuned, because we're still looking for the rest of the details about extras, plus the rest of the info and, of course, cover art. We'll have that as soon as we can, so don't touch that dial!
