Buffy has shed some weight, at least in terms of shelf space. Fox has announced that they are repromoting Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 1-7 in new slim packaging, and at a reduced price. They recently did the same thing with The X-Files, however they removed the last disc in each season set which reduced the included bonus materials. Fox has clearly labeled the disc count with the slimmer Buffy releases, and they're the same number of discs as previous releases. It appears as though these will be the same as the previously released sets, just at a lower price, and with slimmer packaging, but we won't know for sure until we get confirmation from Fox. Each set carries a suggested retail price of $39.98, a decent savings from the previous SRPs of $59.95 (except season 1 which has always been $39.98). The sets will ship on May 30.
