Buffalo Bill - Official announcement & early art for DVDs of Dabney Coleman's classic show

Yesterday we posted the heads-up that Lions Gate is planning a September 6th release ($29.98 SRP) of Dabney Coleman's classic Buffalo Bill series. Now the studio has sent along the official announcement. There is little new information compared to yesterday, but they did provide early cover art as well in a neat little design. Note, however, that the artwork is subject to change. Here's everything they sent us:

Bill Bittinger (Dabney Coleman), a small town host of a local talk show in Buffalo, NY, is trying to make it in the big leagues. He is obnoxious, insensitive, hypocritical and will do whatever it takes to succeed. He makes life miserable for his producer Karl Shub (Max Wright) and his calm, competent, talented co-host Jo Jo White (Joanna Cassidy). Unable to keep Bill under control, they bring in Wendy Killian (Geena Davis) to keep a watchful eye. With its biting satire and wonderful supporting cast, "Buffalo Bill" is known as one of the most daring and controversial comedies - keeping audiences talking for its entire run. This is the complete collection of this early '80s classic at a great value: DVD set contains the complete first and second seasons, 26 episodes and approximately 630 minutes of programming in a 3-disc set.

Neat. Look for some great guest stars to show up, including Russell Johnson (Gilligan's Island), Julie Brown, James Cromwell, Martin Landau (Space: 1999), Susan Ruttan (L.A. Law), and a brief uncredited appearance by Jim Carrey!
