Breaking Bad - Blu-ray, DVD Plans are ALREADY Cooking Up for 'The Complete 5th Season'

No availability date yet, but Amazon is taking advance orders for DVDs and Blu-ray Discs

Posted by David Lambert
This past Sunday saw the debut of the first half of the final season of the show (AMC plans to air it in a split-season broadcast pattern), and has already begun taking pre-orders for home video releases of Breaking Bad - The Complete 5th Season for both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. These listings are long before the official Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announcement for the title, though, so instead of a street date Amazon only says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." Pricing is available, however, currently showing $55.99 SRP for the standard DVD and $65.99 SRP for the Blu-ray (you can, of course, guarantee your copy right away at a discounted price, if you order it using either of the above links). There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entries, nor is there cover art yet (just promo art used to advertise the on-air showings). Stay tuned, however, and we'll update you further on this title, just as soon as we find out anything more!

And congratulations to Breaking Bad for 13 Emmy nominations today, for Best Drama Series, Best Drama Actor (Bryan Cranston), Best Supporting Drama Actor (Aaron Paul; Giancarlo Esposito), Best Supporting Drama Actress (Anna Gunn), Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series (Mark Margolis), Best Directing for a Drama Series (Vince Gilligan), Best Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Michael Slovis), Best Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series (Kelley Dixon; Skip MacDonald), Best Sound Editing for a Series (Nick Forshager, Jason Tregoe Newman, Kathryn Madsen, Mark Cookson, Cormac Funge, Jane Boegel & Jeff Cranforn), Best Sound Mixing for a One-Hour Series (Darryl L. Frank, Jeff Perkins & Eric Justen), and Best Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role (William Powloski, Greg Nicotero, Bruce Branit & Werner Hahnlein). Wow!
