Braceface, the 2001 animated series on ABCFamily, is coming to DVD this summer. Here's the rundown from FUNimation Productions about this show:
Brace yourself. Because Braceface is back and better than ever on DVD!
Perky Sharon Spitz (voiced by Alicia Silverstone), is an ordinary teen with an extraordinary life. complicated further by braces that have a mind of their own. Watch how it all began, as Sharon sits down in the doctor's office and gets the orthodontia that prompts her arch-rival Nina to dub her 'Braceface.' Will her nickname and new tin grin affect her chances with Alden? Could her friend Connor be a good boyfriend option? Will her curiosity over Maria's private diary put a permanent dent in their friendship?
No matter what you're going through, or what questions you have, Sharon has SO been there! Braces not required.
The title of Volume One is
Brace Yourself (which is also the title of the first episode of the series). The DVD will include a handful of very cool extras, such as a "Which Character Are You" personality test, character profiles and an interview with Sharon Spitz herself.
According to
DVDPlanet, where the title is already up for pre-order, this release will contain 3 episodes: "Brace Yourself," "Crushed" (a title remarkable similar to that of Silverstone's first film,
The Crush), and "Five Things That Really Bug Me About You." This DVD is also available for pre-order from
Amazon, if you prefer. List price is $14.98, and the release date is June 15th.
