Two months ago, in early March, we
reported that Amazon had begun taking pre-orders (see button link below) for
My Boys - The Complete 2nd and 3rd Seasons on DVD. This 2-Seasons/1-Title release had not been officially announced by Sony at the time, however, so we didn't have a street date available. Today, though, the studio formally put the title on their schedule, slotting it in for release on
July 20th.
Amazon's pre-order listing has shown a $39.95 list price all along, but Sony's official info puts the cost a bit cheaper, at a $34.95 SRP (if you've already placed an Amazon order, though, don't worry as you'll get the cheaper price charged to your credit card once the set ships). The 2-disc set will have 18 episodes (378 minutes) presented in anamorphic widescreen video, English 5.1 audio, and with subtitles in English and French plus closed captioning.
Below is the studio description of this two-season-set (WARNING: possible spoilers), followed by the package art. Don't forget that the show's fourth season, which kicks off broadcast-wise on TBS this summer, is also available for
advance ordering...stay tuned for the release date and details on that one as well, somewhere down the road!
Season 2: Sportswriter P.J. Franklin continues her on-again, off-again search for romance as she joins her best friend, Stephanie, for a long-planned double date in Italy. The new season unfolds once the identity of P.J.'s mystery date is revealed and she returns to Chicago where her brother, Andy, has taken a high-paying job at a big corporate law firm and moved his family back into town from the suburbs. Change is in the air for the rest of P.J.'s poker pals, too: Bobby is getting married to Andy's beautiful Swedish nanny, and Brendan must reinvent himself after losing his radio station job. And while Stephanie parlays her own disappointing vacation romance into a best-selling dating advice book, Kenny and Mike continue to look for love in the Windy City's singles scene.
Season 3: P.J. and company go to California where Bobby is about to marry Andy's nanny. But all's not well in paradise and the happy couple realizes that they are about to make a big mistake, leaving Bobby and P.J. free to explore their feelings for each other - and to wrestle with how to tell their friends. It's a big year as P.J. is promoted from reporter to columnist and Stephanie's status as a dating guru grows. And as Brendan throws himself into his new nightclub and Kenny pursues his creative side in a new band, Mike remains undaunted in his search for love. Yet, as P.J. and Bobby's relationship faces challenges ranging from making new friends and the destabilizing effects of Facebook to separating their personal and professional lives and how to handle a bout of spring fever, another romance is secretly brewing within this tight-knit circle of friends.
