In this post-9/11 world, the once "undefended border" that divides Canada and the U.S. is no longer considered soft. This CBC dramatic series lifts stories from the headlines to fuel an action-packed dramatic series about maintaining security in today's world. The series follows the Immigration and Customs Service's (ICS) main team lead by Major Mike Kessler.
Based on years of documentary production and field research, The Border pulses with real-life drama, as the immigration officers make life and death decisions about who stays and who gets deported. Part intelligence agency, part police: the officers deport illegals, investigate crime and terrorism and co-exist in a web of international police partners. Their work is complicated by conflicts of interest, political bullying and stinging moral decisions that pit national security against the fierceness of the human heart.
