The 1989 Stephen J. Cannell-produced series
Booker, starring Richard Grieco in this spin-off of
21 Jump Street, is coming to DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment. The show ran for a single season, 22 episodes, and also starred Marcia Strassman (
Welcome Back, Kotter) and Carmen Argenziano (
Stargate SG-1).
Guest stars included the likes of Don Cheadle, Marcia Cross, Don S. Davis, Lori Petty, Brian Bonsall, Vanity, Thomas Haden Church, Gedde Watanabe, Jennifer Runyon, Gary Chalk, Patricia Charbonneau, Ben Vereen, Mariska Hargitay, James Hong, Maura Tierney, Anne Ramsay, Heavy D, and Grieco's former
21 Jump Street cast-mates Steven Williams, Peter DeLuise and Holly Robinson Peete.
The eighth episode of
Booker, "Wheels and Deals, Part 1." was a cross-over episode with
21 Jump Street, and Part 2 had originally been broadcast as part of that show's run. On
the 4th Season DVD set of
21 Jump Street, released toward the end of 2005, Anchor Bay had included both Part 1 and Part 2 of that story. We're not sure what this means for the
Booker DVD release yet, though. Maybe it will include both parts as well, but it could only have the one...or indeed, it could have neither part (perhaps Anchor Bay still retains those rights). We'll let you know as soon as we find out for sure.
Still, the release is being titled
Booker - The Complete Series, so that bodes well for it being inclusive! It will be a 4-DVD set running 600 minutes, at the stunning low cost of just $14.98! You can pre-order it now from Amazon using the button link below, and the street date is
