Back in mid-June, we
reported that Mill Creek Entertainment would be releasing the
21 Jump Street spin-off on
August 25th titled
Booker - The Complete Series at the time. However, in that report we questioned whether it really would be "complete," as the 8th episode, "Wheels and Deals, Part 1," was a cross-over episode with
21 Jump Street that actually appeared on that show's DVD releases.
Now it seems like we have our answer. Mill Creek's
online sell sheel for this release shows revised cover art (seen below) that no longer calls this release "complete," but instead renames it to
Booker - Collector's Edition. The second page of the sell sheet lists all the included episodes...just 20 of the 22 produced installments of the series. Not only is "Wheels and Deals, Part 1" missing from the list, but the next episode is also omitted. That episode, "Someone Stole Lucille," centers around the theft of B.B. King's guitar, and so music rights issues may have been involved in keeping this one off the 4-disc set.
We guess 91% of the series is better than nothing (and it's 95.5% if you own
21 Jump Street - The Complete 4th Season, and the episode included on it), but we also know that some fans out there are going to be miffed at missing out. Our thanks to reader Brian Cody for tipping us off about this info.
