Just the other day we
reported that
Blood Ties - The Complete Season 1 is coming home on DVD this
June 2nd, as a 4-disc set from Eagle Vision (a.k.a. Eagle Rock Entertainment). Now the studio has sent retailers such as Amazon a look at the front cover art, and we've got a copy of it for you below. People who aren't familiar with the series may also want to check out
the online trailer (in QuickTime format) that Eagle has made available at their site.
We've been in touch with Anne Petersen, who runs the
BloodTiesCentral.com fan site. She observes that the
Season 1 title given to this release is "
bound to infuriate fans" (or at least, a number of them). Why? She reasons that the program was produced as "
one season with 22 episodes," and that it was aired worldwide that way, but that in the USA it was broadcast by Lifetime as two separate seasons. Therefore, she's concerned that some Stateside fans would be reminded of this by the DVD title. Still, whatever they call the set, it's a GOOD thing that the show is coming to home video...right? And besides, Anne's site has the news - posted yesterday - that it won't be a long way for the rest of the show: "
The second Blood Ties DVD set is slated for a tentative September release." Good to know! Stay tuned for updates about that. And, in the meantime, here's that cover art for the first collection:
