According to
reports,
Blade: The Series got off to a nice start on Spike TV, but ratings fell by the end of the show's first year, and the program was cancelled. However, New Line is planning to release the popular pilot episode as an extended, unrated, "too graphic for TV!" feature-length DVD, running 88 minutes.
Blade: The Series - House of Chthon will be in stores on
September 18th, according to the full-page ad seen below. That ad comes from the most recent edition of the
Video Business trade magazine. As you can see, cost is $19.97 SRP. At the bottom of our story, you can see that we've trimmed the box art out of that ad, turned it straight and given you a nice close-up of it. Unfortunately, we weren't able to rub out the graphics that were overlayed on top of the box art in the ad layout, so Blade's arm and the price point "burst" are still in the way.
While the trade mag's ad didn't have any further details, a
Video Business report by Samantha Clark says that "
Special features include the "Turning Blade" doc and two commentaries (one with director Peter O'Fallon and the other with writers David Goyer of the movies fames and Geoff Johns)." Video is expected to be widescreen, and audio is expected to be English Dolby Surround 5.1.
