Bewitched - No choice this time: Season 3 is in Color ***Updated***

Posted by Gord Lacey
Add the third season of this popular, magical series to your DVD library! Starring the bewitching Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York and more. Samantha and Darrin settle in with baby Tabitha, Darrin tries to get ahead at work with Mr. Tate (and without witchcraft), Endora continues to interfere, Uncle Arthur pops in and out of the Stephenses' home, and Aunt Clara continues to bumble her way through the world.
Yep, the 3rd Season of Bewitched is here, and this is the year the show made the change from black-and-white filming to being produced in glorious color! It's truly magical with gorgeous brilliant colors, and with toddler Tabitha discovering her own powers, "Derwood" has more magic to worry about. Maurice Evans returns as Samantha's father, and besides the aforementioned appearances by semi-regulars like Paul Lynde as "Uncle Arthur" there are also guest spots by Michael Ansara, baseball legend Willie Mays, Norman Fell, and Bernard Fox as "Doctor Bombay."

Sony has announced the third season of Bewitched, the first broadcast in color, for release on March 21. Previous seasons were released in the original B&W versions that were broadcast, and the colorized episode versions made years later (when the colorization craze hit), giving fans a choice of versions. The third season will only be available in color, since it was never broadcast in black and white (though many viewers didn't own color televisions yet, so they watched the episodes in B&W).

Sony has said that the DVD set includes the entire third season, all 33 (836 mins) episodes. This will be a 4 disc set that sells for $39.95 SRP. We can expect a full frame (1.33:1) transfer (in color, in case you missed that point!), with English, Spanish and Portuguese audio tracks. There will also be Spanish and Portuguese subtitles. The only bonus feature on the set this time will be previews for other Sony titles. No bloopers or anything else this time around, according to the studio. We have the early box art for you to see below (a striking red color this time), but please note that it may not be final and is subject to change:

Update: Our initial story mentioned that there was confusion over the episodes on the set; 32, or 33. We checked with Sony and the season will have all 33 episodes from season 3.
