Shucking off the "Amber" portion of her name, Tiffani Thiessen joins the cast as "Valerie Malone" moves into Brenda's old room at the Walsh household in the 5th Season debut of Beverly Hills, 90210. Shannen Doherty left the show after four seasons, and Thiessen's "Val" came in as a scheming bad girl who quickly was at odds with Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth).
Other folks you'll see this season, in either recurring roles or as one-time guest stars, include NFL star Howie Long (as himself), soccer stars Paul Caligiuri and Cobi Jones (as themselves), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers), Marc McClure (Superman, Back to the Future), Stephanie Beacham (The Colbys, SeaQuest DSV), Wings Hauser (Tough Guys Don't Dance), Michael Whaley (Profiler), Joey Slotnick (Boston Public), Alex Trebek (as himself hosting Jeopardy), Jennifer Aspen (Party of Five) and musical act The Flaming Lips.
Get all 31 episodes, including the double-length season finale, when Beverly Hills, 90210 - The Complete 5th Season arrives on DVD this July 29th. Running just under 24 hours in length, the set will feature the original full-screen video format, English - Stereo Surround audio, and subtitles in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish. Pricing and package art have not come in yet, but stay tuned and we'll update you with that and anything else we find out about this release!
