Last week we
had the scoop with your first look at the box art for
Beverly Hills, 90210 - The 3rd Season on DVD, due in stores on
December 11th. And, let's face it, you guys hated it.
We saw a LOT of negative feedback on this cover art: fans could tell it was a cast shot taken from the wrong season due to hair styles, clothing, and group arrangements. The faded background shot of Dylan with Kelly is wrong we're told; he should still be with Brenda (I honestly don't recall my
90210 history well enough to know what season who was dating whom...and apparently the folks at the studio don't, either!).
Well, long-time readers know we don't just sit on feedback like that, we pass it along the studio. Since the previous art was marked "not final art," we had hoped we could get a change made. However, Paramount Home Entertainment did not respond to us. Instead, today the studio released the final box art for this set in high resolution...and it's the same key art shot we showed you last week, unfortunately.
We know that many of you are unhappy about this, and there's still time for the studio to change. But we have to remind you that, even if it doesn't change, the important stuff is what's on the inside of the box! It's always better to have a box that represents the show and the season properly, we agree with that, but that doesn't take away from this set's 29 episodes, including "Commencement," or the nifty extras included in this package.
