In 2007, Aaron Martin - a producer and writer on
Degrassi: The Next Generation - created a new series set in Boston called
The Best Years. The show lead, Charity Shea, has been known for her appearances in films such as
Alpha Dog, Toxic and
After Sex. Now she stars as Samantha Best, whose life and friendships at fictional Ivy League school Charles University is the focus of the series. Other stars include Athena Karkanis, Jennifer Miller, Randal Edwards and Brandon Jay McLaren, who was
interviewed by TV Guide before the show started airing in Summer '07 on Viacom's teen-focused cable channel The N.
Now, while the powers that be decide whether the show will actually get a much-delayed second season, the folks at Koch Vision are preparing a DVD release of
The Best Years - The Complete 1st Season for release on
March 10th. The 4-disc set costs $49.98 SRP, but can be pre-ordered from Amazon at the button link below for just $34.99 (Amazon prices are subject to change at their discretion). Running time is 622 minutes and audio is presented in English Dolby Surround. Here's a look at the front cover art:
