Back in January we
told you to expect that the next
Ben 10 DVD would be the May 6th release of
Secret of the Omnitrix, a telefilm which aired last August during the course of the 4th season. Distributor Warner Home Video was prepping that announcement at the time, but it never actually came because the folks who put these DVDs out at Cartoon Network decided to switch gears instead!
Late this past Friday Cartoon Network/Warner announced
Ben 10 - Season 4, a 2-DVD release which will arrive on
August 5th. Cost is $19.98 SRP for 286 minutes. Here is the studio description of what you will get on this release, per Warner's password-protected press/retailer site:
Ben Tennyson was just an average 10-year-old kid - until he discovered a strange alien watch in a crashed meteorite. Called the Omnitrix, this watch gives Ben the ability to transform into any of 10 alien heroes, all the while keeping his 10-year-old personality.

So this release will NOT include the "Secret of the Omnitrix" telefilm, according to the official info. However, the studio separately e-mailed out an "e-announcement" which says, and I quote, "
Special Features include original movie and deleted scenes." And separately the e-announcement markets this release by commenting on how hugely popular the "Secrets of the Omnitrix" telefilm was for its broadcast debut. So it's a bit confusing right now!
We're also pretty sure that the e-announce comments don't refer to the live-action
Ben 10 - Race Against Time telefilm as what's being included, either, since that was
released separately on DVD last Tuesday (April 8th), and it reportedly doesn't fit in with the continuity of the main animated series.
Audio on
Ben 10 - Season 4 is English - Stereo 2.0 with English and French subtitles. Package art hasn't been finalized yet, but the e-announce showed a small look at a possible box design. It was marked "subject to change", though, so this might not be what we see on store shelves:
